She was felicitated by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahalad Joshi, and Mayor Iresh Anchatageri with a silk shawl and Siddaruda Swamiji’s silver idol, a book based on Siddaruda Swamiji and special ‘Dharwad Peda’.
Addressing the gathering President Murmu said, “Your kind gesture and respect shown towards a common woman like me is the respect shown towards all the women across the country. This is the land of great Spiritual Gurus and social reformers like Basaveshwara and Siddaruda Swamiji. This land is also a hub for knowledge and music ”.
“This the time of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. By the end of 2047, when we all celebrate the centenary year of Indian independence, the country should flourish as a self-reliant nation in the world”, she added.
