Mangaluru: As the entire world is fighting the coronavirus pandemic, people are forced to stay inside their houses and many are fighting death. It is in difficult times like these that humanity is put to test. In one such case Abdurrahman Goodinabali, a farmworker from Goodinabali village of Bantwala taluk who had been saving his money for years to fulfill his dream of performing to Haj at Mecca and Madina has canceled the trip and in that money, he is helping those who lost their livelihood because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 55-year-old might have made the trip next year, however, Abdurrahman thought what better way to serve his God than to help people and since then has been serving the needy during the lockdown. "Most of the people are suffering because of the lockdown due to Coronavirus and I felt sad looking at the poor who are not able to go out to make a living. Hence, I decided to help them using the money I had save for my Haj trip," said Abdurrahman. Abdurrahman thinks that saving money at a time when people are going hungry would bring a curse upon him, so he decided to feed people with his savings. He has so far distributed rice and other essentials to over 25 families in Goodinabali village of Bantwal taluk.
