Asked about the BJP’s allegation that he was “anti-Hindu”, Shivakumar said, “I have renovated 350-400 temples in my constituency. Let them come and see. I too am a Hindu and I respect everyone. This shows that they (BJP) are afraid of our youth organization,” he retorted.
Several Hindu community leaders and seers including those from Siddaganga Math, Murugha Math, Adichunchanagiri Math, and other sages have voiced their displeasure at the glaring errors in the revised textbooks, he said and added that the government should respect the opinions of the seers on the matter.
Further, Shivakumar questioned the silence of certain community organizations on the matter. “Balagangadharanatha Swamiji and Shivakumara Swamiji are worshipped as ‘walking gods’. Why aren’t they raising their voices?” he asked.
