IAS Officer accused of taking Rs 1.5 cr bribe in IMA scam found hanging at residence

Bengaluru: Suspended IAS Officer BM Vijaya Shankar committed sucide by hanging self at his Jayanagar residence in Bengaluru on Tuesday evening.

Former Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner had been arrested on corruption charges for his alleged involvement in IMA Scam. Shankar had allegedly taken a bribe of Rs 1.5 crore from the firm.

He was out on bail.
