Iconic 'Kalasha' of Pumpwell set for reinstallation

Mangaluru: The iconic Kalasa of Pumpwell which once stood at the centre of Mahaveer Circle will be reinstalled in front of Nitte Day care center circle soon.

The Kalasha had been moved away to facilitate flyover work about a few years back. The Kalasha is currently sitting opposite a police outpost nearby.

The Kalasha had been created and installed at Pumpwell circle as a symbol of well-being on the centenary celebration of Bhagwan Mahaveer who spread the message of peace all over the world.

Shivaji statue in Pumpwell

BJP MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that they are planning to erect Shivaji’s statue in the place where the Kalasa is now placed.
