IMD declares Yellow alert for 2 days in Karnataka

Bengaluru: A Yellow alert has been declared on September 26 and 27 in the coastal districts of the State and on September 26 in northern districts of the State. According to the metrological department, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi districts will receive between 64.5mm to 115.5mm of rains over the next two days. Additionally, the department has issued a Yellow alert for September 26 in Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadagiri districts. Presently, rainfall across the State is receding. In Uttara Kannada district, Karwar and Kadra received 11.7 centimetres of rain on Friday, September 25 while Gokarna received 5 centimetres, Bhatkal centimetre, Kollur and Manki received 3 centimetres, Castle Rock, Bidar and Agumbe received 2 centimetres each. In the capital Bengaluru, Arakere in the northern part of the city received the highest rainfall. Showers are expected in the city for the next two days.
