Bengaluru: Expressing shock at the notice served on him, by the Bengaluru CCB police Kannada Rapper Chandan Shetty on Tuesday sought to know why an exception was being made for the depiction of murder, theft, and rape scenes in the movies, which he argued can also influence people and are punishable under the Indian law.

Appearing before the CCB police on Tuesday, after a notice was served on him for singing a song on marijuana in yet to be released movie ‘Anthya’, Shetty clarified that he sung the song at a time when he was struggling for a break in the Sandalwood industry and it had been composed only for entertainment value.

“If murders, thefts, and rape scenes, which everyone knows are for entertainment, how this song wasn’t,” he wondered.

The Big Boss Kannada Season 5 winner said that the director of the movie had released the song on YouTube in 2015 since the song got leaked over the internet.
