In a Twitter post on February 8, KPCC president DK Shivakumar had alleged that the Indian tricolor was replaced by a saffron flag. “The situation in some Karnataka educational institutions has gone so out of hand that in one case the National flag was replaced by a saffron flag,” he tweeted.

Nagesh flayed DK Shivakumar for spreading lies about the incident. “DK Shivakumar’s comments are on a fake doctored video of the incident,” he said on Wednesday.

He was speaking to media persons after meeting CM Basavaraj Bommai.

The education minister assured the public that strict action would be taken against wrongdoers involved in violence. Further, he appealed to the students and parents to maintain calm and not to be swayed by incitement to violence.
