Mangaluru: As the number of cases is increasing in the state day by day, the people of Dakshina Kannada have come together to fight the virus and started #ISupportCoastalCurfew campaign.
The Self-lockdown campaign that started on Twitter has evoked a good response and many people have to retweeted the same in support.

Meanwhile, merchants under Bajpe have voluntarily decided to close down business from 2 pm every day from July 8 to 22. Self- lockdown is continuing in the Ullal area.
The Urwa Market in the city and Pakshikere are also under self-imposed lockdown.
As many as 183 tested positive on Wednesday, July 8 out of which five have returned from Saudi, Muscat, and Dubai, one each from Bengaluru and Maharashtra, 25 are diagnosed with influenza-like illness (ILI), four are diagnosed with a severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and 65 are primary and secondary contacts of earlier patients. Contact tracing process of 54 patients is on, 22 are random samples and 5 pre-surgery samples.
