“The testing in these labs is carried out with the objective of ensuring that the equipment meets relevant international standards such that it is safe to use, the radio frequency emissions from it are within prescribed limits, it does not degrade the performance of the network to which it is connected, and it complies with the relevant national regulations,” Agarwal added.
The commercial services for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/ Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing, and safety testing for pre-compliance and certification will commence from March 2019. The other two labs, including one for telecom security testing, are expected to be operational from July 2019.
