Jail term for KJP nominee for poll code violation case in 2013

Kolar: As a result of model code of conduct violation during 2013 Assembly elections, a candidate was awarded a one-year jail term by a court at Sidlaghatta in Chickballapur district.

Legal Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court judge N.A. Srikantha articulated the judgment on Monday, giving over the jail term and ₹ 10,000 fine on D.R. Shivakumar, who challenged from Sidlaghatta on the Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) ticket. 

He was blamed for disregarding the code as authorities discovered T-shirts, pants and saris worth ₹ 6,35,000 at his office in Haradi. The materials were seized by the Returning Officer and flying squad authorities and a case was enrolled in Sidlaghatta Rural police station on April 13, 2013. 

The judge likewise directed that the indicted needs to experience three months extra prison term on the off chance that he neglects to pay the fine.
