JD(S) asks EC to declare Chamundeshwari as 'sensitive'

Mysuru: Janata Dal (Secular) blamed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for misusing power in Chamundeshwari and requested Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to declare the constituency as ‘sensitive.’

Addressing media at the Press Club here on Saturday, JD(S) legal cell State President A P Ranganath stated, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is misusing his power by utilizing authorities and administrative machinery to the most extreme degree. We will approach CEO to make a move against this misuse. On the off chance that he neglects to take any activity, we will complain to the Chief Election Commissioner of India. We ask for Chief Electoral Officer to pronounce Chamundeshwari constituency and sensitive constituency.” 

He likewise requested transfer of Assistant Returning Officer Mahesh from Chamundeshwari Constituency as he is a relative of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. 

“Nobody can stop JD(S) applicant G T Devegowda from winning Chamundeshwari. Development works undertaken amid the residency of former chief minister H D Kumarswamy and the alluring manifesto of the party will truly help him to get more votes”, opined Ranganath. 

He likewise said that both Congress and BJP had neglected to ensure the interests of the people, and that the main option remained for the state was JD(S).
