Kabini Water Storage Rises to 2, 249.75 Feet

Mysuru: Water storage in Kabini reservoir rose 7 feet following good rainfall in Wayanad district of Kerala. Water flow from Kerala has risen significantly and no water shortage is expected occur in Mysuru and Bengaluru cities even if Mandya and neighboring districts witness deficient rainfall, sources said.

The reservoir has a capacity to store 2, 284 feet water and at present water storage has reached 2, 249.75 feet with an inflow of 1, 296 cusec and 1, 077 cusec outflow.  The reservoir recorded a water storage of 72.92 feet during this period last year.  As of now, water is being supplied to Bengaluru from Kabini water reservoir. No water has been released from KRS water reservoir for the last 30 days following severe water shortage.
