Kangaroo-like robot to stack shelves in Japanese convenience store

A robot that resembles a kangaroo that can stack items items like sandwiches and drinks on shelves will soon be launched at a convenience store in Tokyo

The store operator says it plans to use robot workers at 20 stores around Tokyo by 2022. It is said that at first, people will operate them remotely until the machines’ artificial intelligence (AI) can learn to mimic human movements.

The robot looks  like a kangaroo, the unusual design is meant to help people feel at ease as many people feel uneasy around robots that look  like human.
