The actor in a twitter post had written, “Glad our Kannada film ‘Kantara’ is making national waves, Director Rishabh Shetty claims Bhootha Kola is ‘Hindu culture’. False. Our Pambada/Nalike/Parawa’s Bahujan traditions predate Vedic-Brahminical Hinduism. We ask that Moolnivasi cultures be shown w/ truth on & off screen.”
Reacting to Chetan’s tweet, Dayananda Kathalsar said, “I oppose Chetan’s statement. From Brahmanas to Koragas all do daivaradhane and are Hindus. There are Daivasthana’s at Brahmin’s house also.”
“It is not right to divide Hindus,” he added.
