Karkala: Man dies as tree falls on bike

A  bike rider died after a tree fell on him at Belman on Thursday, July 6.

The deceased has been identified as Praveen, a native of Sooda, Pilarkhana.

It is said that Praveen was stuck under the tree and died while being taken to the hospital.

The incident left the Karkala-Padubidri state highway completely blocked for several hours. The tree was later cleared by the locals and forest department staff.

Police officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
