Andhra Pradesh government has prohibited purchase of mango from Karnataka. Thus, farmers of the state are in a bad position”, he said.
In the state, there are just two mango processing units while Andhra Pradesh has 59 units. ” We checked about the processing units of Maharashtra yet they have around 50,000 metric huge amounts of fruits as of now in their units.,” Karnataka CM said.
This is the first time in Karnataka that the government has announced support price for mango. The decision would burden the treasury by around Rs 17-20 Crore.
