According to reports, the fees have been increased by 15 per cent for government quota seats and by 25 per cent for institutional quota seats.

As per the same reports, the fee hike was done as there were demands from many educational institutions claiming that they have to pay salaries to their teaching staff according to the 7th Pay Commission.

Various students unions have opposed the hike and have warned that if the government does not cancel this order then they will have to hit the streets in protests.

The fees of government medical and dental colleges will remain the same.
