Karnataka Govt Stays Appointment of Satheesh Kumar as Mangaluru City Police Commissioner

Bengaluru/Mangaluru: Karnataka state government has stayed the appointment of IPS officer N Satheesh Kumar as Mangaluru City Commissioner following complaints by local congress leaders including state minister for food, civil supplies and consumer affairs UT Khader. There is a possibility to appoint a new officer to the post instead Satheesh Kumar, sources said.

The congress leaders in Dakshina Kannada complained chief minister Siddaramaiah that Satheesh Kumar had been serving as SP of Dakshina Kannada when attack on Churches took place and its aftermath the persons belong to Churches became the victims of police harassment.

Earlier, according to a decision by the state government on May 25, Satheesh Kumar was appointed as Mangaluru City Police Commissioner replacing present city police commissioner Chandra Sekhar.
