Bengaluru: Following weak rainfall activities in many districts of Karnataka state, the state cabinet has decided to move ahead with cloud seeding in Cauvery, Malaprabha and Tungabhadra river basins at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore. The cloud seeding process is scheduled to end by two months, said Karnataka State Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs TB Jayachandra on Wednesday.
A private company has assigned the task of cloud seeding on selected areas in the three river basins. The state government has asked development commissioner, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department Officials to move forward with the task assigned. Advertisement
