Karnataka Govt to Send Civic Workers to Singapore for Sanitation Training

Bengaluru: Karnataka state government has decided to send 1,000 civic workers from the state to Singapore in separate trips to train them in modern sanitation techniques and ways used for waste management in Singapore. The workers can personally watch and study the waste managed by the civic workers in abroad using modern techniques.

Karnataka state directorate of municipal administration is organising the Singapore trip to send permanent civic workers of city corporations, municipal councils, town municipalities, town panchayats and other local bodies to Singapore. The study tour is expected to help to implement global sanitation practices in Karnataka.  Six civic workers each from 10 city corporations, 4 each from 57 municipal councils, 3 each from 117 town municipalities and 1 to 2 from each of the 91 town panchayats are scheduled move to Singapore along with 40 officials.
