Seven welfare schemes for registered workers in the organized sector have been being implemented. These include educational incentives, medical aid, casualty assistance, funeral assistance, annual medical checkups, annual sporting events.
For the first time, Rs 10,000 grant for women labourers for the first two childbirths was announced. This will benefit more than 41 lakh workers in the organized sector.
The revised amount and the cost of new schemes will be borne by the Board and the employer, the factory owner at a ratio of 20:40.

Under the education incentive scheme for children of labourers, an annual allowance of Rs 3,000 for children in grades 8 to 10, Rs 4,000 for PUC, Diploma, ITI courses and Rs 5,000 for graduate courses will be granted.
Earlier, to avail this scheme the monthly income limit was Rs 15,000, now it has been raised to Rs 21,000.
Grants have been increased to Rs 25,000 from Rs 10,000 for the treatment of serious diseases. Grants have also been increased to Rs 10,000 from Rs 3,000 for accident allowance and funeral allowance has been increased to Rs 10,000 from Rs 5,000.
Subsidies for labour unions organising health checkups have been increased to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 30,000.
Additionally, subsidies for labour unions annual sports events has been increased to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 50,000.
