Karnataka to get 20,000 Startups by 2020: Minister Priyank Kharge

Bengaluru: Karnataka is the leading state for implementing Start-up policy of the union government and as many as 20, 000 starts ups are expected to be registered in the state by the end of 2020, said Karnataka State ITBT Minister Priyank Kharge speaking at three day long Pravasi Bharatiya Divas being organized at International Exhibition Centre in the state capital. The minister was speaking in seminar on Startups on Saturday.

Within 10 days after the implementation of Startup scheme in Karnataka, 120 Startups were registered. The state government has formed eco friendly startup policy for environmental conservation, the minister pointed out.

In India 25% of the investment goes to IT sector. Also, 1/3 of the global IT production comes from Bengaluru. Therefore, the government is trying to improve infrastructure facility in the state capital, the minister said.

 Speaking on the occasion, industrialist Sharath Sharma said, in India online transaction is improving and 10 crore people are expected to come under online transaction zone by the end of 2017.
