It is said that the sacred river originated from the Bull Temple in the Basavanagudi area in Bengaluru.
According to state Tourism, Environment and Ecology Minister CP Yogeeshwara, the river is polluted and not fit for usage.
The minister said that around 40% of Bengaluru’s sewage water joins the Byramangala lake through the Vrishabhavathi river. This scheme aims to treat wastewater scientifically in three stages to fill tanks and lakes.
