Special bus services were started earlier in the week for migrant workers leaving the city to their homes across the State.

These buses were hired by the Deputy Commissioner. However, from Friday, May 1, it was decided that the cost of travel will be borne by the traveller.

As these bus service will be one-way, KSRTC decided to charge the travellers the rates charged for hiring a bus. To maintain social distancing, only 30 passengers were allowed in each bus.

A KSRTC statement said that on Chief Minister’s instructions a single-fare tariff will be charged to the passengers.
