Karwar: Brown sugar worth Rs 2 cr seized, 4 held

Karwar: Four people were arrested for smuggling brown sugar from Yellapura to Ankola by road, on Wednesday, March 18.

The arrested have been identified as Narayan (35), Chandrahas Gunaga (29), Veerabhadra Hegade (43), Praveen Bhat (30).

While arresting the accused the police confiscated 2.68kgs of brown sugar worth Rs 2 cr.

The confiscated stocked has been sent to get FSL report, informed sources.
