One of the vendors stated that the body constituted under the Street Vendors’ Act 2014 consisting of street vendors and officials was not even informed about this eviction drive and conducted it at 5:30 am. Many old street vendors have nothing left now.
He added that due to the COVID-19 lockdown almost all street vendors were suffering hardships and now their shops have been removed, this is a very condemnable act as these vendors livelihoods have been snatched.
“We will be submitting a complaint to Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra and another to the Kavoor police station against this,” he said.
