Bengaluru: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced that the Diploma Common Entrance Test-2024 (DCET-2024), scheduled for June 22, will now be conducted offline instead of online. This examination is crucial for diploma candidates seeking lateral entry into the second year or third semester of engineering courses.

Originally planned as an online exam, the KEA has decided to revert to the traditional offline format using OMR answer sheets due to various unspecified reasons. KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna confirmed the change, noting that the offline format has been employed in previous years.

Examination Locations

The DCET-2024 will be held only in the following 12 districts: Bagalkote, Bellary, Bangalore, Belgaum, Davangere, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Udupi, Mysore, Shimoga, Tumkur, and Vijayapur. Candidates who initially selected examination venues outside these districts are required to choose one of the specified districts to appear for the exam.

Instructions for Candidates

Candidates who need to change their examination venue can do so on May 24 through a designated link on the KEA website. The updated venue must be selected by 11:59 PM on May 27.

This last-minute change aims to ensure a smooth and orderly examination process, despite the challenges posed by the shift from an online to an offline format. Candidates are advised to check the KEA website regularly for further updates and instructions.
