Kerala MLAs in quarantine after coming in contact with Covid-19 patient

Kasaragod: Two MLAs of Kerala have decided to go on self-quarantine as they came in contact with a person tested positive for Coronavirus in Kasaragod.

It is said that, Manjeswaram MLA M C Kamarudeen and Kasargod MLA N A Nellikunnu both belonging to the Indian Union Muslim League, shook hands with the Corona positive person.

The 47-year-old who arrived from Dubai on March 12, attended a football match and a wedding, which could have led to community spreading.

The coronavirus positive patient arrived from Dubai at Kozhikode airport on March 11 by 8 am. The next day, he travelled from Kozhikode to Kasaragod in a sleeper coach of Maveli Express. After this, he also visited several places in Kasaragod. On March 16, the person went to Kasaragod general hospital, his test samples were taken and was quarantined.

However, the Manjeshwar MLA Kamaruddin said he immediately used the hand sanitizer kept in the car and that since the Covid-19 outbreak he always carries a hand sanitizer with him.

Nellikkunnu said those returning from abroad should stop treating this time as a holiday and that they are self-quarantining themselves to send out a message to the public to be responsible and take the situation seriously

Both the MLA will be in isolation in their houses for 15 days as a precaution.
