Kerala to impose complete lockdown on July 31, August 1 as Covid-19 cases rise

Amid the rising coronavirus cases in the state, the Kerala government has decided to impose a complete lockdown on July 31 and August 1, news agency ANI reported.

Expressing concern at the upward graph of new cases reported from Kerala over the last four weeks, the Centre would send a 6-member team, headed by Director of National Centre for Disease Control to the state to aid the state’s ongoing efforts in Covid-19 management.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) data, Kerala now accounts for 50 per cent of all active Covid-19 cases in the country
