Kolar: 2 brothers sell land for Rs 25 lakh to feed needy amid lockdown

Kolar: In an act of Humanity, two brothers from Kolar sold their land to support the needy during the nationwide lockdown.

Tajamul and Muzamil Pasha, who hail from Mohammadpur village in Chintamani taluk in Chikkaballapur district live in the Housing Board colony of Kolar. After the death of their parents, they moved here with their grandmother. The brothers did not continue their studies after Class 4 so that they could start earning.

After the government implemented lockdown the Pasha brothers sold the land they owned, raised Rs 25 lakh. With the money they got after selling their land, the brothers sought help from friends to buy groceries, cook food, and deliver essentials.

They bought groceries in bulk and stored them at their home. Then they made food packages containing 10-kilogram rice, 1-kilogram all-purpose flour, 2-kilogram wheat, 1-kilogram sugar, edible oil, tea powder, spices, a bottle of hand sanitizer and face masks.

They also set up a community kitchen in an open space near their house to cook food for those who don’t have the facility to do so at their homes.
