KRS Set to Return to its Past Glory as Water Climbs to its Maximum Storage Level

Mandya: Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) water reservoir in River Cauvery basin is all set to reach its maximum storage level of 124.80 feet as it has already touched 103.10 feet as on September 9 following heavy rainfall activities in Bengaluru, River Cauvery basin during the past 20 days. As of now, the dam has an inflow of 12085 cusec against an outflow of 6161 cusec and is all set to return to its past glory with water level touching its maximum capacity after several years of wait.

According to the weather forecasts, the rainfall is very likely to continue for the next three to four days in River Cauvery basin and the rains are expected to raise the water level in KRS to jump its maximum storage capacity. According the forecasts, good rainfall could occur in Bengaluru, Mandya, Kodagu, Tumkur, Shivamogga, Koppal and Belagavi in the next three to four days.
