Despite awareness created by the BBMP’s Health Department regarding the ban on plastic, such materials were used in the food stalls.”

The penalty has been imposed in accordance with the Event Waste Management notification (dated 03-07-2015) and Plastic Ban amendment notification (dated 11-07-2017).

Meanwhile, it is gathered that the KSCA has sought information from BBMP as to where the single-use plastic cups were found in the stadium during the India-Australia match.
