Even though new buses are not turning up, the number of buses which are not fit for use are on the rise. Around 9 months ago, 4 new buses arrived to BC road depot and since then, no new buses have turned up. This problem is plaguing throughout the state and this is causing trouble to depots with limited number of additional buses.
The 114 buses at B C road ply along 112 routes. In 2017, five new buses from BC road depot started functioning between BC road-Kasaragod route and presently, all the buses are making 12 trips from either directions.

More conditioned buses are required for long distance routes but, if the buses are being run day and night, the number of kilometers travelled will increase drastically and the possibility of them coming to a halt soon also increases, inform sources.
5 Rajahamsa, 4 sleeper
BC road depot has altogether 5 Rajahamsa buses which ply along 4 routes. Which means there is one additional bus. Besides, 4 non-AC sleeper buses ply as well of which 2 go to Bengaluru via Puttur and 2 go to the same destination via Dharmasthala. But, BC road depot does not have A C Sleeper bus.
