Speaking on the issue, Transport Minister, Laxman Savadi said, “Kerala approached the Trade Marks Registry, saying they were the first to use the brand ‘KSRTC’ on their buses. The Central Trade Marks Registry has now announced its final verdict. We have still not received full information regarding the verdict. Once received, we will decide on our next move.”

He further said, ” There is no competition or enmity between Kerala and Karnataka. But raising this issue was not necessary. Logo and trademark cases are filed by private companies as it affects their business and profit. But we are a government agency and it was not necessary to file a case because our aim is public service and not profit.”

“There is no loss for the Karnataka government. But, it is not right to raise unnecessary issues and create enmity between states. It is important to maintain good relations with other states,” he added.
