Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, accompanied by KSRTC Chairman S.R. Srinivas, visited the Volvo bus manufacturing unit near Hosakote on Monday. The minister inspected the new buses at the facility.
The 2.0 model buses are 3.5% longer and 5.6% taller than the current Volvo buses. Additionally, the luggage capacity has been increased by 20%, making it the first bus to offer such a large luggage space, the minister said.
Inside the bus, water pipes are installed on both sides of the passenger seats. In the event of a fire, water will be sprayed through 30 nozzles to quickly extinguish flames, ensuring passenger safety, explained the officials.
