The TAC took the decision in a meeting on Thursday.

The Committee will be considering other factors such as the festivals coming up in the next weeks and the number of children testing positive for the virus to present an informed recommendation.

They will be presenting the assessment to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who might take a decision regarding it on Monday.

The chief minister is reported to hold a meeting with the TAC on Monday at 4 pm.

Another factor that aided the recommendation of the TAC was that the reopening of classes 9 to 12 have been mostly successful with most of the students who tested positive for the virus after attending classes did not require hospitalisation.

The TAC is also mooting the idea of the ‘student bubble.’ Students will be grouped together in a bubble for all school-related activities. If one member of the bubble group tests positive for the virus then only the other members of the group will be tested and isolated.
