The move comes in the backdrop of irregularities detected in the recent recruitment exams conducted by the state government, including the PSI recruitment exam.
National Testing Authority (NTA) has prescribed strict rules for the NEET medical entrance exam for both boys and girls. Candidates have been prohibited from wearing long sleeves. Girl students can only wear slippers and sandals with low heels. Any kind of jewellery, ornaments and accessories such as chains, earrings, rings, nose pins, pendants, anklets, bangles, bracelets, etc. are also prohibited.
State education minister B C Nagesh held talks with the education department officials on Thursday. “We are discussing whether to enforce a dress code for the aspirants of the exam,” he said.

Through GPSTR-2022, the state government plans to fill the 15,000 vacant posts for teachers in Class 6 to Class 8. Around 1.06 lakh applications have been filed for the competitive exam scheduled to be held on May 21 and 22.
