K’taka legislative session likely to be held for 10 days in Sept

Bengaluru: A 10-day legislative session of the Karnataka legislature is likely to be held from September 6.

As per rules, gaps between legislative sessions must not be more than 6 months.

The last session was the Budget session held from March 4-24. Accordingly, the next session must be held on or before September 24.

Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister JC Madhu Swamy said that the government is ready to hold the session with adherence to COVID-19 protocols.

However, he added nothing including the bills to be introduced and the number of days has been decided yet and it could be done by next week.

The legislative session will be the first for new Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
