Kukke: Devotees requested not to arrive in groups

Mangaluru: Additional deputy commissioner and administrator of the Kukke Subramanya temple M J Roopa, has requested devotees who have pre-registered for rituals in the temple to come in lesser numbers due to COVID-19 outbreak.

Roopa further stated that about 20,000 devotees visit the temple and about 180 Sarpa Samskara and 120 Ashalesha Bali are performed every day. The temple staff has called everyone who has pre-registered for the performance of the rituals and requested them that only the person who is offering the ritual accompanied by one or two people should visit the temple.

Temples in the coastal districts have also been instructed to set up help desks providing health-related information to visitors/pilgrims.

Many of them have also performed special poojas and prayers to eliminate the threat arising out of COVID-19 epidemic.
