In the complaint registered with the town police station, the wife has stated that the fraudster had come to their house on December 31, 2019, making them believe that he has a permanent cure for the complainant’s husband’s joint pain. Later he introduced another man to them, claiming him to be his elder brother.
On January 2, the said elder brother came and took the complainant’s husband to their clinic nearby to provide medicine. In the clinic, the men gave some medicinal oil and took Rs 1000 and a cheque of Rs 4.54 lakhs in the name of an Anil Pawar from the couple. A few days later they found the clinic closed.
Kundapura town police have registered a case in this regard and investigation is on.
