Kushtagi: Engaged couple commits suicide; reason unknown

Kushtagi: A newly-engaged couple committed suicide by hanging themselves on Tuesday in Adavibavi village under Tavaregera Police station limits.

The deceased couple have been identified as Amaresh Patil (21) and Gonala Yallamma (17).

It is said that the couple got engaged last year and were soon to be married.

The reason for the suicide is yet to be known but is suspected that they were distressed as their parents had postponed their wedding.  Apparently, the family members had asked the couple to wait for a year or so as Yallamma is still 17 years old.

However, the exact reason for the suicide will be revealed only after an investigation by the police officials.
