Alluding to Shah’s current visit to Kuppali, Siddaramaiah said at a rally here that Kuvempu had faith in ‘universal man’ idea and pushed common concordance through his works. But, Shah’s beliefs are against it.

He spoke to voters of Shivamogga no to support the BJP in the coming elections as its state president B S Yeddyurapppa has discolored the picture of the region by involving in corruption. Three other former Chief Ministers who hailed from the region, the late Kadidal Manjappa, the late S Baggarappa and the late J H Patel did not sully the picture of the region when they were in charge of the state.

Alluding to areca cultivators’ issue, the Siddaramaiah said Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel has expressed in Parliament that arecanut was injurious to health. It appears that she has no clue that areca is completely different to gutka. He guaranteed that the Congress is resolved to defend the interests of areca producers. He also added that he has discharged a fund of Rs 85 crore for the development of arecanut producers.
