Lack of doctors, staffs at Kadaba community hospital

Kadaba: With the inauguration of Kadaba as a new taluk, a fully equipped Kadaba community hospital was built at the cost of Rs 4.85 crore and 7 months have passed since its inauguration. But due to the lack of necessary numbers of doctors and staffs here, the patients are in a quandary. Although the concerned have submitted multiple appeals regarding the situation, it has been to no avail.

Presently at Kadaba community hospital, four doctors including a pediatrician, one dentist and thus 34 posts have been approved. But there is only one doctor and since no more doctors or pharmacists have been appointed here, the patients are facing much trouble. The only doctor here is facing the challenge of meeting more than 400 out patients here and giving them treatments.

Local Girish Gowda has sent a letter to Karnataka Lokayukta requesting immediate appointment of the required numbers of doctors and staffs to the hospital.

8 villages within its limits

8 villages including Kadaba, Kodimbala, Bantra, 102nd Nekilady, Kutrappady, Balya, Nujibaltila and Rinjiladi fall within the limits of the hospital. But since, people from the nearby Kunturu, Alankaru, Kombaru, Siribagilu, Aitturu, Konaje, Kaniyuru, Charvaka, Subrahmanya, Panja, Enekal, Balpa, Kenya, Yedamangala regions too visit this hospital for treatment, its jurisdiction has been widened.

Request to the DHO

Pressure has been applied on those who are concerned to the appointing of additional doctors to the Kadaba Community Hospital. A request has been sent to the district health officer to fill the vacancy fro pharmacist and lab technician through outsourcing – P P Vargese, ZP member

Tender has been called

A proposal has been sent to the government concerning the requirement of necessary equipment, facilities, doctors and staffs for the community hospital.  Although the medical officer at Kadaba had been transferred, he was not released for the benefit of the people here. The doctors at Subrahmanya have been deputed here for two days in a week. Tender has been called for outsourcing the pharmacist and lab technician vacancies, and as soon as the process in completed, the vacancies will be filled – Dr| Ramakrishna Rao, District Health Officer
