Latest M-3 EVMs to be introduced in seven Assembly constituencies in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The Election Commission is set to present latest M-3 electronic voting machines (EVMs) in seven Assembly constituencies in Bengaluru Central. This is the first run through the Election Commission presenting the latest EVMs in the nation.

More than 2,710 balloting units, 2,260 control units in the latest M-3 and 2,350 VVPATs will be sent across Rajarajeshwarinagar, Shivajinagar, Shanthinagar, Gandhinagar, Rajajinagar, Chamarajpet and Chickpet constituency. 

Speaking to the media people here on Wednesday Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv Kumar said “The M-3 machines will be sent all over India for the 2019 elections. Bengaluru voting public will turn into the first to utilize it as a feature of a pilot venture,” 

The CEO said the M-3 EVMs have arrived and first-level checks have been led as of now. 

At the point when inquired as to why Bengaluru was decided for the pilot venture, he stated, “Bengaluru is the IT city and the lately EVMs are made here (by BEL).
