Lawyers protest demanding Advocates Protection Act, try to lay siege to Suvarna Soudha

Belagavi: Demanding the government to implement the Advocates’ Protection Act, the Advocates Association staged a violent protest, here on Tuesday, by marching towards Suvarna Soudha and attempting to lay siege to Suvarna Soudha.

The protesters tried to push the barricades and jump the Suvarna Soudha gate.

They also sloganeered against the government and had a tussle with the police.

Due to the protest, the national highway leading to Suvarna Soudha witnessed massive traffic congestion stretching several kilometres.
