Light, bull trawl fishing banned

Mangaluru: Light assisted fishing and bull trawl methods of fishing have been banned. Hence, fishing boats with generator sets of more than 5 kv will have to be removed ordered the Deputy Director of the Fisheries Department. 

Beyond the order, the lights and generators used by fishing boats to conduct light assisted fishing and the bull trawl nets used for bull trawl method of fishing will be seized, informed the Deputy Director of the Fisheries Department in a press release.
