Maheshwari, who resides in Bengaluru had moved the Karnataka High Court seeking relief in connection with the Loni assault case. On June 21, the Ghaziabad Police issued a notice and directed Maheshwari to appear in person to get his statement recorded in connection with a probe related to the assault of an elderly Muslim man.
Earlier, Manish Maheshwari’s counsel told the Karnataka High Court that he is an employee of the organisation and has nothing to do with the offence.
The counsel said that the Supreme Court and the High Court have said that statement can be recorded through video-conferencing but Ghaziabad Police wants his personal presence.
