Starting with announcing in a tweet that former BJP member Basanagouda Turvihal will be officially joining the Congress, Siddaramaiah follows with attacks on the government on the issues of cow slaughter, Love Jihad and the Maratha development authority.

“@BJP4Karnataka is desperate to divert public attention from its failures. ‘Love Jihad’, ‘Cow Slaughter’ and similar issues are their only hope to win elections,” reads one tweet. While in another he states that the BJP has ‘no clear stance on the cow slaughter issue.’

He adds that beef exports ‘have doubled since Narendra Modi became the prime minister’ and claims that the State government’s amendments to the Cow Slaughter Act, 1964 were repealed by his government to ‘retain the original provisions.’

In the last tweets, he says that after a discussion within the party they will decide whether to support the call for bandh called by pro-Kannada organisations against the Maratha development authority and reiterates that ‘Belagavi is an integral part of Karnataka’ confirmed by the Mahajan report.
