Madikeri: Corpses of 3 children found in canal; suicide suspected

Madikeri: A tragic incident regarding children occurred on Children’s Day. Dead bodies of 3 children were found in the Harangi Left Bank Canal near Torenuru in the taluk here.

The corpses included two boys and one girl child, between 6 to 8 years old. It is suspected that the mother of the children committed suicide along with the kids.

Locals informed the police after finding the dead bodies floating in the canal.

The water flow to the canal from the Harangi reservoir was discontinued for further search operation.

The identity of the children is still not known.
